Bhubaneswar: Three gymnasts from the Odisha AM/NS India Gymnastics High Performance Centre (Odisha AM/NS GHPC) in Bhubaneswar are set to represent India at prominent international events.
Olympian Pranati Nayak has received her selection to participate in the 20th Asian Games, scheduled to take place in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4.
Meanwhile, Tapan Mohanty and Satyajit Mondal will compete in the FIG World Challenge Cup, which will be held in Szombathely, Hungary, from September 18 to 20.
Pranati stands out as the only gymnast from India at the Asian Games, where she will take part in the Women’s Vault and Women’s All-Around events in Artistic Gymnastics.
Tapan is set to compete on the Floor and Parallel Bars, while Satyajit will perform on the Vault during the FIG World Challenge Cup later this week.
“Pranati’s selection as the only gymnast representing India at the Asian Games, along with Tapan and Satyajit’s inclusion for the FIG World Challenge Cup, is a remarkable accomplishment that underscores their dedication, discipline, and perseverance. Having participated in the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021, Pranati has consistently achieved strong results in both national and international events. Earlier this year, she claimed silver at the FIG World Challenge Cup in Tashkent and gold at the 54th All India Railway Gymnastics Championship, along with representing India at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
In 2025, Pranati secured a bronze medal at the Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships and also at the FIG Apparatus World Cup, in addition to winning one gold, one silver, and one bronze at the 38th National Games.
Tapan and Satyajit earned their spots in India’s six-member Men’s Artistic Gymnastics team for the FIG World Challenge Cup after competing against a field of 50 top athletes.
