Bhubaneswar: On Tuesday, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi departed for a three-day journey to the UAE aimed at conducting roadshows to draw investors to the state, according to officials. Prior to his departure from Bhubaneswar, Majhi emphasized the government’s aim to position Odisha as the “first choice for investors.”

During his visit, the Chief Minister plans to undertake investment-related activities in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, which will include a series of high-level governmental discussions, meetings with investors, business interactions, and outreach to the diaspora, as stated by an official.

“Our vision is clear: to make Odisha the first choice for investors seeking opportunity, stability, and sustainable growth. Today, we take this message to the UAE and strengthen our engagement with global investors and industry leaders,” Majhi shared in a post on X. He traveled to New Delhi first, from where he will take a flight to Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi.

Majhi noted that Odisha is becoming a “preferred destination for global investment.” He added, “With a strong focus on #EoDB (ease of doing business), investor confidence, enabling policies, and faster project execution, we are creating an ecosystem where businesses can invest, grow, and thrive.”

The Chief Minister’s itinerary in the UAE will kick off in Abu Dhabi, where he will connect with prominent institutions and investors, according to officials.

The agenda includes a roundtable with the International Holding Company (IHC), recognized as one of the largest investment firms in the world and the most valuable listed holding company in the Middle East, based in Abu Dhabi. The visit will also feature the signing of Memoranda of Cooperation (MoCs) and discussions with the UAE Minister of Investment and sovereign investment funds.
