Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced on Thursday that the state has seen an investment of ₹850 crore to establish new industrial units, which will create job opportunities for more than 30,000 individuals.
On the same day, Pratap Group, a domestic telecom infrastructure company, launched two manufacturing plants in Madhya Pradesh dedicated to advanced optical fibre and battery energy storage systems (BESS), along with Lithium-ion (Li-ion) solutions.
The first facility, named Corsis Industries, focuses on the production of advanced optical fibre aimed at bolstering India’s rapidly growing digital framework. It has begun operations to enhance broadband connectivity, support 5G networks, provide fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) services, and cater to data centers, smart cities, defense, and other vital communication infrastructures.
The second plant, Voltters Technologies, is equipped with state-of-the-art robotic technology and Industry 4.0 automation, and has also started manufacturing BESS and Lithium-ion battery solutions.
During the announcement, Chief Minister Yadav remarked, “These industrial units have seen an investment of ₹850 crore. Through this, more than 30,000 youth will gain employment.” He further emphasized the significance of establishing modern technology-related industrial units, highlighting that this facility is now the third-largest lithium battery unit in the country.
Devendra Singh Shekhawat, CMD of Pratap Group, expressed, “Today is not merely an inauguration, but a day that marks a new direction for India’s bright future, clean energy, and advanced technology. With the launch of our Battery Energy Storage Systems and Advanced Optical Fibre facilities, we celebrate both pride and joy.”
Union Minister of Culture & Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, stated, “We stand at the threshold of the digital and AI era, where advanced technologies will play a pivotal role in India’s growth. Reliable power supply and high-level connectivity are essential, and optical fibre and storage systems will bridge this gap, enabling secure harnessing of solar and wind energy.”
Based in Gurugram, Pratap Group has a significant presence in the optical fibre battery sector, executing turnkey projects, and has secured large-scale contracts with BharatNet.
Earlier this year, the company signed a substantial ₹8,025 crore contract with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to design, build, operate, and maintain a middle-mile network under BharatNet’s Phase 3 initiative across Rajasthan, Haryana, and Assam.
In February, Pratap Group also obtained contracts for projects in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh as part of BSNL’s 4G Saturation’s Infrastructure-as-a-Service package.
In a competitive bidding process, Pratap and Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL) were successful in emerging as the top bidders for four remaining packages in the BharatNet Phase-3 program.
Specifically, Pratap Technocrats was identified as the L1 bidder in three packages: Package-2 (Rajasthan) valued at ₹2,839.25 crore, Package-10 (Haryana) at ₹836.78 crore, and Package-14 (Assam) at ₹831.61 crore. TCIL won the NER-1 package covering Mizoram, Tripura, and Meghalaya, valued at ₹767.97 crore.
