A tragic incident occurred on Monday morning when a tractor driver died after the vehicle he was operating plunged into a pond near Balunkeswar in the Guapur area, within the jurisdiction of the Balipatna police in Khordha district, Odisha.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been confirmed.

Reports indicate that the driver was en route to his field when he suddenly lost control of the tractor, resulting in the vehicle overturning and rolling into a pond adjacent to the road.

As a result of the accident, the tractor’s engine became trapped on the driver, who was submerged in the water for an extended period and unfortunately died at the scene.

Upon receiving notification of the incident, the Balipatna Fire Services team arrived to conduct a recovery operation for both the tractor and the driver’s body.

The precise cause of the accident will be determined following an investigation.
