Bhubaneswar: On Sunday, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi issued a warning to Generation Z about the risks posed by “external forces” that aim to mislead and undermine India’s position internationally.
While inaugurating the state-level ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, he emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been working to empower the nation’s youth, yet they are being misled by these external influences.
Majhi expressed confidence in the patriotism of Indian youth, stating they are committed to advancing the country. He called on Gen Z to be mindful of these deceptive entities and their attempts to sway young minds through social media. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been striving to empower the youth of the country. However, in today’s digital landscape, they are susceptible to manipulation by external forces,” Majhi noted.
He added that these unseen influences would ultimately fail, urging the youth to embrace patriotism, declaring, “The only voice of the youth is — our country will be safe!”
The chief minister also pointed out that there are specific external forces trying to distort the views of Gen Z through online campaigns, which could be detrimental to India. He encouraged today’s youth to distance themselves from such influences and to contribute to national unity.
Majhi asserted that no external force could diminish the strength of India’s youth. He emphasized that the purpose of the current Triranga Yatra is to unify and respond resolutely to these external challenges.
Referring to young people as the future of India, he expressed his vision of transforming the country into a “Vishwaguru” (global leader). He urged the youth of Odisha to strive towards creating a Viksit Bharat (developed India).
His comments followed a statement from BJP’s Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan, who claimed that efforts were made to mislead Gen Z during the NEET paper leak protests, which ultimately led to his resignation as Union education minister. “Gen Z is our children. Some people attempted to mislead them. I had no personal issues then. At least two crore children are born in India every year. Over the last decade, 20 crore children were born. They have aspirations, and they will make India the ‘Vishwa Guru’. The post was not important to me,” Pradhan had stated.
