Bhograi: A total of 15 fishermen, among whom are three from the Baleshwar district of Odisha, were successfully rescued on Saturday after their trawler was missing for nine days in the Bay of Bengal.

The rescue operation located their trawler near Kakdwip, after it had gone missing during a fishing trip. The group included three fishermen from Odisha, while the other 12 were from West Bengal. This information was verified by the president of the Shankarpur Fisheries Committee.

The news of their rescue brought a wave of relief to their families and local authorities who had faced days of uncertainty.

The fishermen departed from Shankarpur Fishing Harbour in West Bengal on July 2. They lost communication when their trawler reportedly became stranded at sea, prompting a large-scale search effort to locate them.
