Thieves struck again at a temple in Odisha’s Udala late Friday night, targeting the Smashan Kali Mandir.

The culprits allegedly broke into the donation box belonging to the deity during the night. They made off with the silver crown of the goddess, along with a golden chitta, necklace, and other ornaments. Approximately ₹30,000 in cash was also stolen from the temple’s donation box.

When the priest arrived at the mandir in the morning, he discovered the donation box open and the money, gold, and silver jewelry missing. He promptly notified the police about the incident.

Upon receiving the report, the police arrived at the mandir and initiated an investigation into the matter.
