Bhubaneswar: KIIT University, established by the renowned educationist Achyuta Samanta, has been officially recognized with the title for the Highest Blood Collection for the year 2025.

This esteemed recognition was awarded by the Red Cross Regional Blood Centre in Bhubaneswar.

In 2025, KIIT University organized blood donation programs that resulted in the collection of the highest number of blood units, leading to this honor from the Red Cross.

World Blood Donor Day is celebrated annually on June 14, during which individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to blood donation are acknowledged.

This year, the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Odisha State, observed World Blood Donor Day yesterday.

At the event, Professor Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, the Registrar of KIIT University, accepted the award on behalf of the institution.

Dr. Achyuta Samanta, the founder of KIIT and KIMS, expressed his joy over the achievement, stating that KIIT and KIMS conduct large-scale blood donation programs each year, with many volunteers participating in the blood donation efforts.
