Odisha CM Enforces Zero Tolerance on Corruption by Dismissing Former Tehsildar

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has reaffirmed the government’s strict stance against corruption by dismissing former Bhubaneswar Additional Tahsildar Chittaranjan Pilla from service due to alleged irregularities in land administration decisions.

A statement from the Chief Minister’s Office on Saturday indicated that Pilla had previously served as Additional Tahsildar in Bhubaneswar before being appointed as Deputy Collector in Jagatsinghpur.

This dismissal follows departmental inquiries conducted by senior revenue officials into various land-related decisions made by Pilla during his time in Bhubaneswar. The investigations revealed multiple irregularities in the management of land cases and administrative actions.

In light of the inquiry’s findings, Chief Minister Majhi sanctioned Pilla’s dismissal from government service.

The state government emphasized that this action underscores its dedication to ensuring transparency and accountability in public administration, sending a robust message against corruption and misconduct within government offices.
