In a tragic incident of domestic violence, a homeopathic doctor was reportedly beaten to death by his elder brother and other relatives due to a long-standing property dispute in Baradang village, located under the jurisdiction of Mahakalapada police station in Odisha’s Kendrapada district.
The victim has been identified as Golak Chandra Nauri, a practicing homeopath who operated clinics in Paradip and Mahakalapada.
Sources indicate that the confrontation occurred late Thursday when an argument erupted between Nauri and his elder brother, Abhay, regarding the land issue. The dispute quickly escalated as other family members became involved, leading to a severe group assault on Golak. The beating continued even after he lost consciousness, resulting in critical injuries.
Family members transported him to the Mahakalapada Community Health Centre and subsequently to the Kendrapada district headquarters hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Authorities have detained four individuals, including the main suspect, Abhay Nauri, in connection with the murder. A case has been filed, and investigations are ongoing to clarify the complete sequence of events and gather further evidence.
