In a tragic road accident, a truck driver lost his life after a Hyva truck, loaded with chips, collided with a truck carrying iron rods on the Oranda overbridge within the Gurudijhatia police jurisdiction in Athagarh, Odisha’s Cuttack district.

Reports indicate that the iron-rod laden truck was traveling from Dhenkanal to Choudwar when it was struck from behind by the Hyva truck at high speed. The collision was so violent that the Hyva truck driver died instantly, with reports suggesting that his head and body were separated due to the force of the impact.

The scene of the accident was described as horrific, underscoring the severity of the crash. Upon being notified, personnel from the Gurudijhatia police and Athagarh fire services arrived at the location to conduct rescue and investigation efforts. Authorities have initiated an inquiry to determine the precise cause of the accident.
