Vedanta Aluminium has achieved its highest quarterly aluminium production to date in the September 2026 quarter, propelled by new capacity and efficiency improvements.
On October 6, 2026, the company announced that its aluminium output increased by five percent, totaling 649,000 tonnes compared to 617,000 tonnes during the same quarter last year, according to Vedanta Aluminium Metal Ltd’s production data.
The firm stated that this milestone was supported by production from its new smelter and enhancements in efficiency across its existing facilities.
Significant Increase in Alumina Production
Furthermore, alumina production saw a remarkable rise of 37 percent, reaching 895,000 tonnes for the quarter ending September 30, 2026, a substantial increase from 530,000 tonnes in the previous year.
Vedanta Aluminium Metal Ltd noted that it achieved a quarterly alumina production of 895 KT, reflecting a 37 percent year-on-year growth, primarily fueled by the ramp-up and stabilization of its expansion circuit.
Additionally, production of value-added products grew by 31 percent year-on-year, reaching 432,000 tonnes, driven by increasing demand from the automotive sector and domestic downstream industries.
