Kendrapada: On Saturday, a six-foot-long saltwater crocodile was successfully rescued after it became ensnared in a fishing net at Brahmanikholha village in the Rajnagar region of Odisha’s Kendrapada district, as reported by forest officials.

The crocodile was caught in a net set by local villager Bhagabat Swain, who intended to catch fish in his agricultural area near the village.

Swain discovered the crocodile trapped in the net while checking on his catch on Saturday morning. He promptly alerted nearby residents and notified the Forest Department about the situation.

Upon receiving the call, personnel from the Forest Department arrived at the scene and successfully rescued the crocodile, according to officials.

The sighting of the saltwater crocodile in farmland caused alarm within the local community.
