Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], July 30 (ANI): On Thursday, Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati recognized Jyotirmayee Nayak, the champion of Indian Idol Season 16, during a ceremony held at Lok Bhavan.
Commending her remarkable talent and unwavering dedication, the Governor noted that her success has not only brought honor to Odisha but also serves as an inspiration for aspiring artists to chase their dreams with diligence.
In an interview with ANI, Jyotirmayee Nayak expressed her happiness about meeting the Governor. She stated, “It was a great moment for me as I got to meet Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, and he welcomed us with a lot of love and warmth. I am grateful that I was felicitated by him.”

Jyotirmayee Nayak triumphed in Indian Idol Season 16 after several months of performances on the singing competition. She concluded her journey on the show with a rendition of ‘Saiyaan O Saiyaan,’ and her performance of ‘O Jab Tak Hai Jaan Jaane Jahan Main Nachungi’ earned her a standing ovation from the esteemed actress Hema Malini.
Her interpretation of ‘Jaane Kyun Log Mohabbat Kiya Karte Hain’ also impressed veteran actor Leena Chandavarkar, who expressed her desire to hear Jyotirmayee sing the classic tune.
Prior to her appearance on Indian Idol, Jyotirmayee had been active in the Odia music scene and contributed to music therapy for cancer patients.
The grand finale featured prominent judges Shreya Ghoshal and Badshah, along with special guests including Usha Uthup, Udit Narayan, Papon, Kumar Sanu, Shehnaaz Gill, and Urmila Matondkar.
The 16th season of Indian Idol was themed ‘Yaadon Ki Playlist,’ showcasing performances centered around popular songs from various eras.
