The 2026/27 season of the Indian Super League (ISL) is finally launching after a prolonged wait, with the inaugural match scheduled for Saturday. Bengaluru FC will go head-to-head with Sporting Club Delhi at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru, a venue that recently hosted a friendly match where India drew with Panama.
Defending champions East Bengal, who celebrated their first national league title in over two decades during the shortened 2025/26 season, will commence their title defense with an away match against Churchill Brothers on October 18. Rival team Mohun Bagan Super Giant will kick off their season earlier, on October 12, with an away game against NorthEast United. The much-anticipated Kolkata derby between these two teams is set for November 29.
As of now, only the initial phase of matches has been disclosed, while details for the subsequent phase are expected to be announced later in the season.
