On Sunday night, an incident of unrest occurred during a Jatra performance in Athagarh, located in the Cuttack district of Odisha. The disturbance happened at Kaitha Chhaka during the debut of the newly established Tarini Gananatya troupe.

The troupe was presenting the play ‘Nisha Nisha Rati,’ featuring actress Nisha Maharana. Reports indicate that some attendees were displeased with what they deemed inappropriate content in the performance.

As the performance unfolded, chairs and water bottles were reportedly hurled towards the stage, leading to a tense atmosphere for a brief period. This disruption occurred while Nisha Maharana was in the midst of her scene, but the situation was subsequently brought under control.

No immediate comments from Nisha Maharana regarding the incident have been reported thus far. This is not the first instance of such behavior directed at the actress; she has previously experienced similar disruptions where audience members protested by throwing chairs during performances deemed objectionable.
