Jharsuguda: Vedanta Aluminium has successfully held a graduation ceremony for 30 local youths who completed a vocational training program focused on the Food & Beverage industry at its Vedakshata Skill Development Centre.

The event was attended by Amit Kumar from the Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA), who praised the graduates for their accomplishment and urged them to utilize their new skills to forge successful careers. Vedakshata is part of Vedanta Aluminium’s efforts in Odisha to enhance the employability of young individuals by providing practical training, mentorship, and preparation for the workplace in sectors such as hospitality and mobile repair. This initiative effectively addresses the gap between local talent and market requirements.

Since its launch, Vedakshata has trained over 90 individuals, helping many secure jobs and pursue sustainable livelihoods. By tailoring its training to align with industry needs, the program plays a significant role in skill enhancement and economic empowerment in the region.

C Chandru, CEO of Vedanta Aluminium in Jharsuguda, emphasized that empowering youth is vital for fostering resilient communities. He noted that the ‘Vedakshata’ initiative equips local young people with relevant skills and practical experience, paving the way for meaningful career paths. Jasoda Budula, a participant from Jharsuguda, remarked that the Vedakshata training offered valuable insights into the Food & Beverage sector, enhancing his professional abilities and confidence, and preparing him for new job opportunities.
