Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala is poised to take a significant step towards leading India’s efforts against climate change by adopting a comprehensive strategy focused on clean energy, energy efficiency, renewable technologies, and active public engagement.

In a noteworthy move, Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a Government of India enterprise operating under the Ministry of Power, has expressed its commitment to collaborate with the Kerala Government. This partnership will implement a range of globally recognized energy-efficient technologies designed to support sustainable development, decrease carbon emissions, and improve public service quality across the State.

This initiative aligns with the Union Government’s objective of making energy efficiency a fundamental element in fulfilling India’s climate goals. On July 15, a senior delegation from EESL, led by CEO Akhilesh Kumar Dixit, will present a detailed overview to high-ranking officials of the Kerala Government during a meeting chaired by K R Jyothi Lal, Additional Chief Secretary (Finance), in Thiruvananthapuram. The presentation will highlight successful projects undertaken across the country, such as the smart metering initiative in Bihar, energy efficiency programs for students in Delhi, induction cooking projects in Assam and Odisha, the Street Lighting National Programme in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, as well as the latest renewable energy initiatives in Gujarat and the EESL partnership model in Andhra Pradesh.
