Inviting investors from Gujarat to Odisha, Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, stated on Tuesday that Odisha serves as India’s gateway to the South East Asia region, asserting that the partnership between the east and west will significantly contribute to achieving a developed India.

During the Odisha Investors’ Meet Roadshow in Ahmedabad, CM Majhi articulated the state’s national outreach to establish Odisha as a prime destination for next-generation industrial growth under the ‘Purvodaya’ vision. He remarked, “Gujarat has powered India’s west. Odisha is now ready to power India’s east, offering scale, speed, and strategic access to the next frontier of growth. For industries looking ahead, Odisha presents not just an opportunity, but a long-term competitive advantage.”

“Our message is simple – Odisha is fully prepared for India’s next chapter of industrial growth, and I invite you all to Odisha to partner with us. We encourage industries to explore, invest, and grow with us as we develop a future-ready industrial ecosystem. The East (Odisha) and West (Gujarat) partnership will be crucial in achieving a developed India. With a 575 km long coastline, operational ports, railways, highways, and industrial corridors, Odisha is the gateway to the Bay of Bengal and the Indo-Pacific region. If you are planning for the next ten years, Odisha has ample opportunities to offer,” the Odisha CM told investors in Gujarat.

On a three-day visit to Gujarat, the delegation, which included Minister for Industries Sampad Chandra Swain, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, and Additional Chief Secretary Industries, Home Hemant Sharma, led by the Odisha CM, conducted 26 one-on-one meetings and two sectoral roundtables, including a Textile Round Table, over seven hours. Discussions covered a wide array of sectors, showcasing the state’s growing capabilities in both established and emerging industries.

The Chief Minister stressed that India’s next phase of economic expansion will be stronger and more balanced with the rise of eastern India, positioning Odisha at the heart of this transformation. He asserted that if India aspires to become a Viksit Bharat, eastern India must also progress.

“From the sacred land of Lord Jagannath in Puri to the revered Dwarka of Gujarat, our states share enduring cultural and civilizational ties. Gujarat has long been a leader in textiles, and Odisha is emerging robustly with a supportive ecosystem, skilled workforce, and policy-driven growth,” he stated.

Reinforcing Odisha’s broader industrial vision, he added, “Odisha is not defined by a single sector. We are constructing integrated industrial ecosystems that empower industries to invest, expand, innovate, and grow sustainably over the long term.”

Highlighting the state’s governance approach, he noted, “Investors are drawn to regions where there is trust in intent, systems, and leadership. In Odisha, we are dedicated to ensuring that intent translates into action through transparency, responsiveness, and delivery.”

Regarding the efficiency of project clearances, the CM mentioned, “In Odisha, your proposals will be expedited. I have instructed local administrations, including collectors, to facilitate any necessary work at the district level for project implementation. MoUs worth Rs 20 lakh crore have been signed in the past two years. I have approved projects worth Rs 9 lakh crore, along with Rs 3 lakh crore for groundbreaking and inauguration of 148 projects. As Gujarat is prepared, so are we for the MoUs.”

Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain affirmed that Odisha is progressively positioning itself as a future-ready industrial hub, bolstered by robust infrastructure, port-led logistics, stable policies, and a facilitation-driven approach aimed at fostering sustainable and inclusive growth.

The delegation will also visit Mundra and Vadodara.
